More information The space Located in St. James, Hummingbird Cottage is a stone and wooden two bedroom house built in a fenced garden just less than six hundred feet from the beach. It offers gracious living - Caribbean style. The traditionally inspired architecture features a spacious verandah in a local neighborhood near the Caribbean Sea. The interior layout is equally roomy with an kitchen, dining and living room. The two bedrooms have Air conditioning. Hummingbird Cottage has been newly refurbished in 2014. It is a special place for quiet relaxation, read and enjoy the beauty of Barbados. The interior consists of spacious living/dining areas and bedrooms, all delightfully furnished. There are also facilities in place for high-speed internet suitable for those wishing to surf for pleasure. Private and securely positioned centrally within beautifully garden. Guest access You can be assured of a friendly greeting when you arrive at the property and you'll be given the keys and properly familiarized with the house, its facilities you can alluse and the local environment so you can settle in with the minimum of fuss. Located on the sunny side of the island Weston is a short drive from Holetown which is the main town on the west coast. This is the leeward side of Barbados so the ocean is usually quite calm and suitable for swimming and snorkeling. All what Barbados have to offer! Make a Bicycles Cruise at a slow pace around the island...... Or ask me where to rent Scooters, Fully automatic and semi-automatic 125cc, 150cc bikes that are easy to ride.... Or what you need to rent a Cruiser 200cc, easy to ride cruisers that are great for an experienced rider and your pocket. Interaction with guests Just ask me! Interaction between me and guests is truly at the preference of the holiday maker themselves. My staff and I are a phone call away. If there is anything you need, we can be reached 24 hours a day by phone or email. For an additional charge we can also arrange to have a housekeeper clean and wash laundry. (We know how many towels get used). Groceries delivered directly to your holiday apartment - prior to you arriving. Simply tell us what you want, and we will shop for you. Airport pick up and/or drop off can be arranged upon request. Tour guide, baby sitting and maid services can also be arranged at an additional cost. The neighborhood is residential, quiet and peaceful. Other things to note Hummingbird, a little piece of paradise to spend a peaceful vacation away from "the world". There is also a local fish market. In the close vicinity, there is John Moore’s Bar, a local rumshack, reputed to be the best on the island. Sometimes they cook and sell locally-caught fish. Opposite is another bar which offers the best pork chops on the island on Fridays only. Swimming with turtles. Just 1km south of the cottage, on Alleyne's Bay’, you can swim with turtles which grow up to 4ft in diameter. Magical and highly recommended! Dining Out Here is the famous Lone Star Restaurant rated by The Times travel as one of the top 10 romantic restaurants in the Caribbean. Next door is the more rustic Ju-Jus, a lovely beach bar and grill. They also celebrate significant dates (such as Bob Marley’s birthday) with a barbecue, not to be missed.
